Blowing Rock Memorial Gardens

This list is a work in progress.  We have a listing for all of our native plants and cultivars with a link to more info on the NC Agriculture Extension Gardener Toolbox.  We recommend this tool for finding information on these as well as the annuals and non- natives plants listed. We recommend using a phone app, such as Picture This, to help you ID plants.

The Blowing Rock Garden Club cares for The Memorial Garden which is the long rectangular garden that spans the front of the Memorial Park. On the right end, it starts just to the left of the town hall and goes all the way down to The 1888 Museum, then wraps around the museum and goes down Memorial Lane.

We are fortunate in Blowing Rock to have a full-time 4 person landscaping crew that does so much to keep the town beautiful.  And since we often get credit for what they do, we'd like to be clear that the town crew takes care of everything else!  This includes....

the gorgeous hanging baskets, the 2 elevated stone areas as you enter the park, the traffic island in front of the park, all of the raised stone beds between the Memorial Gardens and the park...and all of the beautiful public garden spaces in our town.

The plants listed here are only those plants which are found in the Memorial Gardens.
